Acceptance of terms

By creating an account or using EyesOnText ("the Service"), you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

The service

EyesOnText provides rule-based analysis of text for statistical patterns associated with AI-generated writing, and an optional correction pipeline that edits flagged text. Detection and correction are heuristic. Neither is a certification of authorship, and results should not be used as the sole basis for academic, employment, or legal decisions.

Accounts

You must provide accurate information when creating an account and are responsible for activity under your account and for keeping your credentials secure. You must be at least 16 years old to use the Service.

Acceptable use

You agree not to:

• Submit text you do not have the right to process, or that infringes another party's rights
• Attempt to reverse-engineer, scrape, or overload the Service or the API beyond documented rate limits
• Use the Service to build a competing detection or correction product
• Resell or sublicense access without a written agreement

Subscriptions and billing

Paid plans renew automatically on a monthly or annual cycle until cancelled. You can cancel at any time from account settings; cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period. Fees are non-refundable except where required by law. We may change prices with at least 30 days' notice to active subscribers.

The anonymous preview on the homepage is rate-limited and provided for evaluation only, without a service-level commitment.

Intellectual property

You retain ownership of the text you submit. We retain ownership of the Service, including the detection rules, correction logic, and software. We do not use submitted text to train machine learning models, consistent with our Privacy Policy.

Disclaimer of warranties

The Service is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, including accuracy, merchantability, or fitness for a particular purpose. Detection scores are probabilistic estimates, not proof of authorship.

Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, EyesOnText is not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, or for decisions made based on detection or correction output. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid in the 12 months before the claim arose.

Termination

We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms or applicable law. You may close your account at any time; see our Privacy Policy for what happens to your data.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. Material changes will be communicated via email or a notice on the website before they take effect.
